Janet, Kevin and family warmly welcome you to the Manor House B&B. We offer quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a beautiful 17th century, Grade 2 listed manor House. We offer the freedom of access to be expected in a quality country house hotel, but with the personal attention and friendliness only a guesthouse or B&B can provide.
Our Bed and Breakfast is perfectly situated between the Yorkshire Dales, the North Yorkshite Moors National Park and the town of York itself. Our accessible bed and breakfast accommodation gives you the perfect location to explore the countryside or shop in York itself. We are only 10 minutes from York by car and there are excellent park and ride systems to our bed and breakfast accommodation.
Dating back over 300 years, our B&B Grade II listed house is full of character with oak beamed rooms and open fires. Although no longer a working farm, there are 3 acres of gardens, private parking, stabling and paddocks allowing us to welcome guests with dogs and horses to our bed and breakfast accommodation.
You can be assured of a relaxed and comfortable visit as the eight bedrooms in both the guesthouse and Garden Rooms have recently been upgraded and refurbished to the highest of standards resulting in the recent award of 4 diamonds by the Visit Britain tourist board and the AA.

Our Bed and Breakfast is situated in the small, friendly village of Linton On Ouse, near York, (see local information below) our guesthouse is ideal for both holidaymakers and business travellers, being centrally located; - 15 minutes from the A1 and 5 minutes from the A19 and only 7 miles north of the historic City of York - with easy access to the major centres of Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk together with the lovely villages of Aldwark, Great Ouseburn, Shipton by Beningbrough and Helmsley. Accomodation Facilities
The Manor House's seven guest bedrooms provide a variety of accommodation including a twin, doubles a treble and a family room. The spacious rooms in the house are individually coordinated, whilst retaining their antique furnishings.
Comfort is paramount in our bed and breakfast, with fresh linen, snug quilts and quality pocketed spring mattresses. Oak beams and antique fireplaces help increase the welcoming ambience.
Additionally there are two ground floor rooms and a family suite in our garden chalet block, which is adjacent to the house. Each has an individual entrance, providing easier access for those less able. The rooms are furnished in a contemporary style with fresh modern decor, but retaining a homely feel with an emphasis on comfort, including new quality beds, pocketed spring mattresses and comfortable quilts.
The garden rooms at the B&B have a double bedroom with a small dining area, a shower room and a separate kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. The family suite comprises a sitting/dining room with a galley kitchen area. A double bedroom with an additional twin room accessed from it. The shower room is newly renovated with a large (1200mm) easily accessible shower cubicle. Standard facilities in all guest rooms include: En-suite shower room, Colour TV with DVD or VCR, Coffee making facilities, Towels and toiletries, Central Heating and spacious rooms to put your legs up after a tired day.
Breakfast is served in our dining room at a time to suit you. We offer a wide range of cereals, fresh fruit juices and a full cooked Yorkshire breakfast which includes quality back bacon rashers, locally sourced outdoor reared pork sausages, our own free range eggs, tomatoes and pan fried local mushrooms. If you require a lighter meal, we offer scrambled or poached eggs, baked beans or mushrooms on toast. Toasted home baked fruit loaf is also available. Bread and preserves are home baked/made. We offer a choice of tea, cafetiere of freshly brewed coffee or quality instant coffee ( regular or decaffeinated.)
We also offer evening meals by pre-arrangement. These can be either-
- A two course Table d'Hote menu, all freshly prepared and sourced, wherever possible, from local ingredients. Served 6.30pm- 7.30pm. (incl. coffee)
