VISIT Easingwold- Yorkshire at its best

THE GALTRES CENTRE

The Galtres Centre, Easingwold, incorporates many facilities for the local community and beyond to enjoy, whether it is sport, with a wonderful new indoor sports hall, gymnasium, outdoor all weather pitch for many sports, or the new Galtres Entertainment Centre with first class seating, central stage, superb sound and lighting, and providing varied entertainment for all including cinema. To support all these facilities, it has a bar and catering service.

The Galtres Centre always welcomes support from volunteers within the community, as the Centre is run by volunteers with a nucleus of paid staff, so offers to help will always be appreciated.
Any one who has retired and in previous employment has held a position that one would consider of assistance in the running of the Centre would be welcome.

The team of volunteers for the entertainment centre includes helpers at front of house level, but also help is wanted in the sound and lighting aspect of the theatre, no need for super technical knowledge, but that would be most welcome.

Any one with a good basic common sense approach is ideal with an offer to help in any aspect of work.
The bar is always after helpers who enjoy meeting people, giving a good service, but also any one getting involved in committees such as management and finance.

The Centre receives the minimum in grants, so relying on volunteers to ‘make things happen’, and produce a financial stability to cover all the high expenses such a centre incurs.

So, if you have retired, or just want to contribute to a highly successful organisation that gives a hearty welcome, then contact Judy Dalby to find out more on 01347 822472, or call in for a chat.

It's a fact

Like many local villages, Easingwold grew out of two completely separate settlements, one Viking and one of Saxon origin, located to the north and south of a common market square.
